Smart Net Package

Labor and Spare Parts

The yearly maintenance contract will cover the Labor in addition to Computers and Peripherals spare parts. EIT will maintain the products specified in the list below in good operating condition throughout the term of this agreement.

The present offer doesn’t include the supply of consumable products such as printer ribbons, magnetic discs, cartridges, print heads, maintenance kits and printer paper, as well as the remedial or preventive maintenance of any element not mentioned in the present contract.

Onsite Support

EIT Smart Net Package provide onsite and offsite support coverage for your desktops, workstations, servers, storage systems, mobile computers, printing and imaging devices. This cost-effective Service package helps you minimize system downtime due to hardware failure.

Monthly Preventive Maintenance

EIT provides preventive maintenance service programs to address the needs of businesses that do not have qualified computer technicians on staff. Basic equipment maintenance such as data backup, internal and external component cleaning and software updates is administered on a scheduled basis. By following a few basic procedures clients can greatly reduce the risk of data loss or hardware failure. The following information represents some of the procedures of a typical preventive maintenance program provided by EIT

Data Backup

There are two reasons for data loss; either there was no backup or the media used failed to successfully capture the data. To reduce the possibility of data loss we require clients to maintain backups on Tape, CDRW, Jazz or Zip disk. Floppy disks have a high rate of failure and should not be used to protect vital information. Backups are verified during each service visit to ensure that critical data is being safely captured. In the event of a system failure data will be transferred to another working system while repairs are being made.

Anti Virus Protection

Clients are required to maintain a current version of Anti-Virus software. Systems will be configured to automatically perform virus definition updates and perform full system virus scans weekly. The anti-virus software is configured to scan in-coming and out-going emails, the most common method of virus transfer. Anti-virus settings and definition files are verified during each service visit to ensure that data is protected from virus damage. Our product of choice is Symantec’s Norton Anti-Virus.

Firewall Protection

Symantec’s Norton Personal Firewall keeps personal data in and hackers out. Right out of the box, it makes your PC invisible on the Internet so that hackers can’t find it. The program’s intelligent intrusion prevention technology blocks suspicious Internet traffic. And easy-to-use privacy controls prevent personal information from being sent out without your knowledge.

Internal/External Component Cleaning

Dust is one of the leading causes of hardware failure. All moving components are thoroughly cleaned and lubricated during service visits. The case is opened and dust is removed from the motherboard and all system boards. The CPU fan, power supply fan and any other board fans are cleaned, lubricated and tested.

All data cables are checked to be sure they are securely seated on system boards. CD and floppy drives are opened, cleaned and tested for data transfer. External components such as keyboard, mouse, monitor and printers are cleaned of dust and debris and all cable connections are checked. Connections to surge protectors or UPS are checked.

Software Updates / System Optimization

Operating system updates and patches are downloaded and installed to ensure that your system has the most current version of the OS software. Internet browser software updates or upgrades are preformed as software changes become available.

Updated component drivers are installed as they become available or are required by system changes. Hardware configurations are checked to be sure that they are operating efficiently and without conflict with other components.

Defrag and scan disk maintenance programs are run to detect any problems that your hard drive may have. Specialty error diagnostic software is run on other system components to verify that they are in good working order. Hard drive file organization is checked and any misplaced files are moved to their correct data folders. Any temporary or unneeded files are located and removed.

General Terms & conditions

1- Technical Intervention

Preventive Inspections

The machines will be inspected preventively Twice every month. These inspections consist of controlling the good functioning or the machines, cleaning, lubricating, adjusting the mechanical parts and replacing defective consumable parts (Printers Heads, Ribbons, Drum, Toner, Ink cartridge are not included).

Reparations on site

In case of breakdown, our technicians will make the reparations within the normal working hours from Monday till Saturday. These reparations include manpower and spare parts (based on the contract terms). Transport expenses are offered cost free to the client.

2- Maximum Time of Intervention

We mean by “Maximum time of intervention”, the time extending from your phone call until the arrival of EIT technician. Normally, the clients having a maintenance contract are serviced the quickest possible within Maximum 2 hours within the limits of work time that is to say from Monday until Saturday from 8:00 a.m. till 18:00 p.m.

3- Virus infection

All virus-related malfunctions on windows based PCs and Servers and any data loss are covered and supported by this maintenance contract. Each PC that needs to be cleaned from virus infection is not subjected to any additional fee per visit. EIT will not be held responsible for data loss or data corruption due to virus infection or missed backup procedure. The end user or the administrator should be responsible for maintaining regular data backup and anti-virus update.

4- Limits of the Contract

The expenses and fees issued from the following circumstances are not included in the maintenance contract: accidents (Dropping the unit), fires, damages caused by liquids, lightning, thunderbolt, bad utilization, the non respect of the conditions prescribed by EIT such as, temperature, humidity degree, and electrical installation.

5- Duration

The duration of the contract is one year. This contract could be cancelled by previously written notification sent one month at least before the date of expiration, by a registered letter

6- Price

All parts replaced will be invoiced according to EIT ruling prices at time of repair.

7- Miscellaneous

  • The client will guarantee the free access to machines for the EIT technicians. If not, the work will be presumed as performed. EIT declines all the responsibility when maintenance couldn’t be performed out of its will.
  • The present contract could not be transferred, and will be considered as terminated if the machine covered by this maintenance is sold or was diagnosed or fixed by other than EIT service staff.
  • In case of non execution by one of the parties of one of the clauses of the present contract, this latter could be cancelled at whatever time, by the other party making a notification by a registered letter.
  • EIT doesn’t authorize any person, any representative, inside or outside of the service department to fix or to accept other conditions of these specified in the present contract. Every agreement different or contrary to the above-mentioned will be null and void.

8- Payment terms

The payment of the maintenance charges will be done as per the agreement between the customer and EIT
